Irresponsibility in high-level politics
It remains unclear why the principle of accountability cannot be consistently enforced within the Swiss Federal Council and the upper echelons of federal agencies. What enables outstanding achievements and success in the private sector is apparently detested in the federal government in Bern.
Senior executives in private companies must take responsibility. If they do a good job, they get promoted. They are given more authority and a higher salary. The recently released film «Der Hype» by Mike Wyniger has shown that things work differently in our national government. Wyniger’s documentary features dozens of public appeals that Federal Councilor Alain Berset and Federal Councilor Simonetta Sommaruga presented to the public during the pandemic to justify lockdowns, mask mandates, PCR testing, and massive restrictions. Documentary filmmaker Wyniger also brings to light warnings and assurances from the Federal Office of Public Health and the national expert commission. And then, just a few scenes later, completely contradictory statements follow from the mouths of the very same political leaders and “experts.”
The manipulation of the Federal Council’s COVID-19 and vaccination policies was exposed long ago. Anyone who now, in the darkness of a movie theater, is once again exposed to fabricated forecasts, false promises, and untenable evidence can hardly believe that this was actually the high-level politics of the successful nation of Switzerland.
Meanwhile, Corona Captain Berset has vanished to distant Strasbourg as an official at the Council of Europe. Ms. Sommaruga has entered an honorable, well-paid retirement. Former Magistrate Viola Amherd has followed suit; as a Federal Councilor, she ordered the largest mobilization of the Swiss Army since World War II.
Responsibility? Accountability?
- For inaccurate information?
- For manipulation and outright lies?
- For an unnecessary lockdown (Sweden had the lowest excess mortality rate without a lockdown)?
- For the deprivation of civil liberties and rights?
- For elderly people dying alone?
- For the seriously ill left untreated?
- For underutilized hospitals?
- For bored soldiers?
- For private bankruptcies?
- For depressed children and adolescents?
- For false promises regarding the efficacy and safety of mRNA gene therapies?
- For the necessary destruction of the excessively purchased “vaccines” worth well over a billion francs?
- For the severe and fatal consequences of the “vaccines”?
- For the depletion of the nation’s wealth by tens of billions of francs?
- For incompetence and weak leadership?
- For caving in to demands from the EU and the WHO?
- For the loss of public trust?
Who should demand this accountability? By law, it would be the Federal Assembly, which exercises overall supervision over the work of the Federal Council. But that body is made up of many politicians who are cut from the same cloth as the Federal Councilors. Perhaps they even aspire to be elected to the federal government themselves one day. So they prefer to practice opportunism and flexibility early on. Outspoken, responsible, and successful managers rarely make it into the Swiss government. And when they do succeed every now and then, they may end up like Christoph Blocher did: after four years, it’s over. Intrigue. Ouster. Then crippling irresponsibility finally regains its largely unchallenged position.
The Federal Council in the Fight Against Traditional Switzerland
The ballots for the June 14 vote were recently mailed out. Naturally, mainstream politicians, cultural figures, and the media are up in arms against limiting immigration. For years, left-liberal politicians have championed insatiable growth and integration into the EU. A victory for the “No to a 10-Million-Switzerland” initiative on June 14, 2026, is therefore very important because there is an intrinsic connection to the “Compass Initiative” and the “EU Subjugation Treaty,” which is expected to be put to a vote in 2027. All three votes must be won in order to continue on the self-determined, successful Swiss path!
However, the Federal Council could not resist signing the treaty that amounts to Switzerland’s partial surrender in favor of the EU. Furthermore, our government seeks to relinquish sovereignty and submit to the dictates of foreign judges, as the members of the Federal Council have spoken out against the majority of the cantons. Federalism, which is of existential importance to Switzerland, has thus simply been scrapped by the Federal Council! (see blog article on this) – This is an unprecedented affront to the people!
The EU is a largely undemocratic, overpriced, war-mongering power structure. And our government wants to subject us to the dictates of this EU! Let us therefore support parties, politicians, and organizations that are fighting against the dismantling of traditional, direct-democratic Switzerland (in addition to the organizations mentioned above, these include Zukunft CH, Schweizerzeit and others). Also still active in the fight against freedom-hostile policies imposed from above are: the Schweizer Landsgemeinde and the Aktionsbündnis Freie Schweiz (petitions, moratorium, event on June 18 in Muri AG, and others), the Friends of the Constitution, and the organization Massvoll.
